We have reached the 25th pick of our 2013 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft. That belongs to the Minnesota Vikings, who also had the 23rd selection -- used by 'NYG_28' to select wide receiver Tavon Austin. 'In his role as Minnesota GM, 'NYG_28' is back again. The selection for the Vikings is ...

Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State

'NYG_28' explains:

With their second pick in the first round the Vikings must address an immediate need. They absolutely must upgrade at middle linebacker, cornerback and defensive tackle. With this pick the Vikings choose corner back Xavier Rhodes.

Their are many critics of Rhodes because he isn't fluid in his movements and lacks the quick speed to cover faster receivers, but he does have some special physical tools that can help him throughout his career. At 6-foot-2 Rhodes has the height to combat Calvin Johnson and Brandon Marshall better than most corner backs. And in a division with Aaron Rodgers, Calvin Johnson, and Brandon Marshall you can never have enough good corners.

Valentine's View: This is the classic case of when value meets need, the thing all general managers hope will happen in the draft. Many analysts think Rhodes will come off the board in the first 15 picks, and SB Nation NFL Draft has him ranked 17th on its Big Board. To have Rhodes fall into Minnesota's lap here at No. 25 make this a 'bang the table' pick for the Vikings.
