The Minnesota Vikings are up with the 23rd overall selection in the 2013 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft.

The Minnesota Vikings are the next team up in our 2013 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft. The Vikings pick 22nd, and long-time community member 'NYG28' is playing the role of GM. The Vikings select ...

Tavon Austin, WR, West Virginia

'NYG28' explains:

The Vikings are in dire need of upgrades at many, many positions. Middle linebacker, defensive tackle, guard, safety, corner back, wide receiver, and even defensive end need to be looked at with these two first round picks . Simply based off of the BPA (best player available) status and team needs the Minnesota Vikings select Tavon Austin.

I fully expect Austin to be gone as somewhere in the 11-17 range in the real draft, but at this point in the mock, there is no way the Vikings pass on a playmaker like him. With Greg Jennings, Tavon Austin, and a healthy Jarius Wright the Vikings would finally have a formidable passing attack. That is assuming Christian Ponder can get the job done at quarterback, but that's a story for another day.

Valentine's View: After shredding 'Raptor' for not taking a receiver at No. 22 for the St. Louis Rams I find myself having to praise the selection of Austin for the Vikings. Having dealt away Percy Harvin this pick makes a boatload of sense, and I would have to praise it regardless of my feelings on the Rams passing on Austin.

GOOGLE+ HANGOUT! Jesse Bartolis and I are planning a Google + Hangout this evening to discuss the NFL Draft, and probably also the progress of the Big Blue View Community Mock Draft. Check the site around 8 p.m. ET this evening to watch the Hangout and maybe send us some questions.
