Our 2013 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft rolls along this morning, having reached the 21st pick. That means the Cincinnati Bengals are up, with 'JINTSGM' playing the role of general manager. With the 21st pick, the Bengals select ...

Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee

'JINTSGM' explains:

Patterson (6-foot-3, 215 pounds, high 4.3's 40-yard dash) reminds me a lot of Julio Jones/ Demaryus Thomas and I think he can help take the load off A.J. Green and their paring could take the Cincy offense to the next level. Too often now defenses focus on AJ Green and the offense stalls out because a lack of other playmakers. Patterson is a player who must be paid attention too because he is always a threat to score and can help an offense in many ways. I also considered defensive end Bjoern Werner and right tackle D.J. Fluker. I think Werner is a top 15 pick and Cincy could use him in a rotation with starters Michael Johnson and Carlos Dunlap. Fluker could replace Andre Smith, but right now it looks like he is most likely to re-sign and if that's the case Patterson and Werner are better all-around talents and bigger impact players with Patterson the pick because he would make the most difference at the position of greater need for the Bengals. The other areas of need are middle linebacker and safety but I don't see value at either position at the 21st pick.

Valentine's View: Finally, a wide receiver comes off the board. With the St. Louis Rams up next could this start a little mini-run on receivers? Probably not the strongest need for the Bengals, but 'JINTSGM' most likely nailed it here in terms of value.
