We have reached the fifth overall pick in our 2013 Big Blue View Community Mock Draft, and that means it's time for 'GIANTS_FAN4LIFE' to make his selection for the Detroit Lions. The selection is ...

Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan. [Prospect Profile]

'GIANTS_FAN4LIFE' writes:

After a disappointing 4-12 the Detroit Lions are back drafting in the top 10. The Lions biggest needs are at offensive tackle, defensive end and cornerback. Which lead me to choose between Eric Fisher, Bjorn Werner and Dee Milliner. After the retirement of Jeff Backus and not resigning Gosder Cherilus, Eric Fisher is the obvious choice. Not only does he fill a need but he’s arguably the best player available. There are some people who believe Fisher is a better prospect than first overall pick Luke Joeckel. Fisher can come in and start right day one at left tackle.

Valentine's View: I can't really argue too much with this selection after the team did not re-sign Gosder Cherilus. I might have gone with cornerback Dee Milliner, myself, or taken a gamble on BYU defensive end Ezekial Ansah to improve the pass rush. Yet, there is nothing wrong with anchoring a tackle spot.

The Cleveland Browns will be up next, with that selection coming from 'Thiergow.'
