Our Big Blue View Community Mock Draft gets underway with 'bbobely' in the role of general manager for the Kansas City Chiefs, who have the first overall selection in the real 2013 NFL Draft.
Bbobely's choice for the Chiefs is ... Luke Joeckel, OT, Texas A&M
He writes:
"The Chiefs have franchised Brandon Albert, which is a temporary solution to the problem of protecting the not-so-fleet-footed Alex Smith. Joeckel can work the right side for a year and then transfer to the blind side next year. Defensive line and corneback, the other big needs, are fairly deep this draft so we can wait to address those."
Valentine's View: Joeckel has been the chalk pick for the Chiefs for a while now, and with Kansas City having traded for quarterback Alex Smith and signed a free-agent backup in Chase Daniel there is no need to reach for a QB here. The only debatable thing here is that some analysts like Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher more than Joeckel.
