The New York Giants lost tight end Martellus Bennett to the Chicago Bears in free agency leaving them last year's fourth-round pick Adrien Robinson, Bear Pascoe, and Larry Donnell (listed at 6-foot-6, 269 pounds) on the depth chart. The Giants might like Robinson and Donnell enough to be done at the position, but the more likely scenario is that they attack the position during the rest of free agency or in the draft.
The Giants have been connected to tight end prospects in the draft and one of the latest is when Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN New York mentioned Dion Sims in a post in how to replace Maretllus Bennett.
That doesn't mean they might not draft a tight end later in the draft. One guy to keep an eye on is Michigan State's 6-5 Dion Sims, a big tight end who has good receiving ball skills and is a former basketball player. A source said the Giants were interested in Sims at the scouting combine last month.

Pros
Good size (6-5, 262 pounds, 33 1/8-inch arms and 10.5-inch hands) and that's really his best asset is his large frame, which gives him a lot of potential as a blocker. Sims was listed at 285 pounds during college, but weighed in twenty pounds lighter at the combine. Sims is a good athlete (4.75 40-yard dash, 35-inch vertical) with soft hands. He catches the ball well in traffic.

Cons
He hasn't been supremely productive and hasn't shown to be the type of player who will consistently stretch the field vertically, but he does a good job underneath and he has some appeal as a guy who could challenge vertically in the right offense because he does have pretty good speed once he gets going. He has the size/strength to be a plus blocker, but not always the best technique. He has a felony arrest, which will need to be answered.

Does He Fit With The Giants?
He possess ideal size and good speed for his size. He has soft hands and catches the ball well. He does a good job of moving forward after he catches the football. All of that has to be appealing to the Giants, the fact that he has the size/strength to develop into a good blocker with the best TE coach in the league can't hurt. He is a middle-round prospect and could be an option for the Giants in the fourth round range.

Final Thought
I imagine the Giants will address tight end at some point before the start of next season. Sims is a nice talent who has some questions to answer about his felony arrest, so he could fall a couple of rounds later than his talents suggest.
