Today we're going to take a look at one of the Senior Bowl week winners when we discuss Oklahoma offensive tackle Lane Johnson in our 2013 NFL Draft prospect proile. Johnson is an intriguing prospect. He's a former junior college quarterback turned talented offensive linemen.

Pros
Johnson has good size at 6-foot-6, 302 pounds and very long 35-inch arms. Johnson is very athletic and has quick feet. He is a natural bender and plays with good leverage. Johnson has some nasty in him, but is at his best as a pass protector. Johnson has active hands and should have no issues handling the athleticism of right defensive ends in the NFL.

Cons
Johnson doesn't have a lot of experience at tackle and it shows up at times with sloppy technique, especially as a run blocker. Johnson doesn't have great functional strength and until he gets stronger could have problems the powerful defensive ends.

Does He Fit With The Giants?
Well the name might sound familiar to you because @nfldraftscout relayed that he heard from a Giants scout that "Lane Johnson is his left tackle". But don't read too much into that. Even if that was said that doesn't mean anything. It could be a smoke screen, and even if it is the opinion of one Giants' scout they do have others. Regardless, Johnson profiles as a starting left tackle in the NFL and until the Giants re-sign Will Beatty they definitely need one.

Final Thought
Johnson has the length and athleticism that NFL teams desire in prospects and which is why he'll be an early-round selection. Johnson has been considered a mid-first round to early second round pick for months, so anything you hear about him being a combine riser is misleading. This guy is well regarded and should come off the board early.
