New York Giants Training Camp: Saturday, 8/3 practice open thread

Use this as your open thread to discuss Saturday's Giants practice.

Jim O'Connor-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants will practice a half-hour earlier than usual Saturday to accommodate head coach Tom Coughlin, who will travel to Canton, Ohio following practice to watch former Giants coach Bill Parcells be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Coughlin will return for Sunday's practice, but leaving camp for any amount of time shows Coughlin's respect for Parcells, who won two Super Bowls with the Giants. Coughlin was an assistant coach under Parcells with the Giants.

A reminder that Sunday's practice at Quest Diagnostics Training Center is closed to the public because of the International Champions Cup Soccer doubleheader in MetLife Stadium.

What to watch for

- Justin Pugh (concussion), Corey Webster (groin) and Hakeem Nicks (groin) won't work today.

- The five players who began training on the PUP list -- Chris Snee, Jason Pierre-Paul, Terrell Thomas, Henry Hynoski and Markus Kuhn -- are still there. Snee, who had offseason hip surgery, seems likely to be the first to return. Snee said recently that "I need to get some practice reps and some game reps. I’ll get those in."
