The New York Giants have only two days left in the training camp portion of their 2013 NFL season. After practice Tuesday and Wednesday at Quest Diagnostics Training Center practice will be closed to the public.
The Giants face the New York Jets Saturday night at MetLife Stadium in their third preseason game. The Giants will be the home team this time.
"It’s an important game from our standpoint because we need improvement," said head coach Tom Coughlin. "We haven't scored any points, we haven't scored touchdowns. We're still lacking in the turnover area, which as I mentioned, I thought we had opportunities the other day. There are some things that we are definitely trying to accomplish: putting pressure on the opponent's quarterback, continuing to stop the run, having a good mix between the run and the pass, and having consistency.
"We've got a lot of things to improve on."
The biggest question today will be how the Giants shuffle their offensive line with David Baas out due to a sprained MCL.
Veteran lineman David Diehl showed up Tuesday with a cast on his right hand, as seen below:

Diehl, according to a variety of reports on Twitter, said he can play with the injury.
Among the options the Giants have are moving left guard Kevin Boothe to center, putting Diehl at guard and inserting rookie first-round pick Justin Pugh at right tackle or simply inserting Jim Cordle as the starting center. Head coach Tom Coughlin has thus far not committed to what the Giants will do, but we should find out this afternoon during practice.
Is this a clue as to what we might see?
Source says the plan to replace Baas in the lineup right now is to bring in rookie first-rounder Justin Pugh at RT. Diehl moves inside to OG

[Note by Ed Valentine, 08/20/13 1:47 PM EDT: It sounds like that will be the case.]
Giants will have Pugh at RT, David Diehl at LG and Kevin Boothe at C, at least for starters with C David Baas out. Plan could always change.
