Third-round pick Jayron Hosley, a cornerback, has been the best of the Giants' rookies thus far this season. He started opposite Corey Webster the past two games. Here is what he said about his development:
"Really it's just the preparation of training yourself to have that confidence and the coaches are doing a great job of preparing me by giving me that confidence by throwing me out there and just getting a feel for the game. I feel like I'm catching on and just going out there and playing ball and doing what's expected." [Full transcript]
Ramses Barden was seen giving quarterback Eli Manning a hug on the sidelines near the end of Thursday's 36-7 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Barden had a career-high nine receptions in the game.
"I just wanted really to express my appreciation and gratitude for Eli's trust and faith in me throughout the game to keep coming my way. I'd like to think that if he's gonna give me a chance, I want to do my best to carry or help him achieve what he's trying to achieve, so if we're moving the ball down the field and he trusts me enough to throw my way, then I need to do my job and come down with it."
