Q: You guys won the Super Bowl last year, but it probably bothered you a little bit that the running game did not put up the numbers you want. How much did that stick with you all offseason long?

A: That’s a tough thing as a running back. Actually being the starter and I’ve been a big part of it. We just have to look forward to this year. I’m doing a whole lot better. Upfront, you know, all together as an offense. I think it will come.

Q: How do you see that running game changing this year?

A: We have to put a lot of things together. Just execution on given plays. Different teams play different, so we’ll see how it goes.

Q: Do you step into this season almost taking last year personally, with the offensive rushing totals?

A: Definitely. Being 32nd is devastating for us. We just want to come in and play as hard as we can every game and like I said, execution is going to be the key this year.

Q: How’s your health? How do you feel physically?

A: I feel great. Honestly, I’ve always said I’ve felt better, but this year I feel great. More than any year I’ve played in the NFL.

Q: Is that because of the procedure you had, or something else?

A: I think so. The procedures, like I said, it made me so much better. Running wise, I’m just light on my feet right now and I feel great.

Q: How do keep yourself healthy for 15, 16 games this year?

A: I’m going to play hard every game. I’m going to give it my all. All I can do is just stay in the training room and just take as much help as I can.

Q: As opposed to a big back complementing you, how does someone like David Wilson, the speed of him, how does that complement the offense? Maybe, change things a little.

A: Well, his speed is tremendous. He can open up a whole lot of things for our whole offense. Outside, inside, and he’s an all around back. He’s a smaller back, but I think he can execute everything.

Q: What do you want to improve on?

A: Just being a big part of this offense. Our rushing attack is where it’s going to be. Our offensive line is where it’s going to be, so all I can do is to help as much as I can all around.

Q: With Brandon Jacobs gone, do you feel like you have to take on a bigger role in the running game?

A: I don’t feel like I have to do anything different. We have a lot of great backs. Danny Ware, Andre Brown, Da’Rel Scott, and our rookie, David Wilson, they’re all great backs. They can help me as much as they can and I’ll just do my part and help them.
