Afternoon Notes About Some Giants Draft Choices

To turn the attention back to football on this Friday afternoon here are a couple of notes about New York Giants draft choices. Only one week until rookie mini-camp.

Giants draft Bearcats tight end Adrien Robinson | Cincinnati.com | cincinnati.com
"He’s a great story," UC coach Butch Jones said of Robinson. "I thought the light started to click on and his game really took off after the West Virginia game this year. He’s always been an individual who possessed tremendous athletic ability."

The Auburn Plainsman - Offensive lineman Brandon Mosley drafted to the New York Giants
It’s awesome to be mentioned in the same sentence as him. He is a great player and I take it as a compliment, but he has been in the league for so long and done so many great things at the top level. It is hard for me to compare our two bodies of work. I look forward to hopefully being his teammate. He has a lot of knowledge and I have a lot to learn from him.

Yard work came first for former UAB OT Matt McCants on Saturday | al.com
Former UAB offensive tackle Matt McCants didn't sit around Saturday waiting for his name to be called in the NFL Draft. Instead, he took the time to help his mom catch up on yard work at the family's home in Mobile. In fact, he was still in the yard when the New York Giants called and told them he was being picked in the sixth round. After that, the yard work was put on hold. "I knew I was going somewhere so I wasn't really worried about anything," McCants said. "I was out there helping my mom and I got the call from the New York Giants telling me they wanted me. It was just excitement from there.
