The NFL today released the 2012 preseason schedule. The defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants will face the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets on the road in the first two weeks before hosting the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots at MetLife Stadium.
Exact dates for the preseason opener against Jacksonville and the game at MetLife Stadium that will be hosted by the Jets have yet to be determined. The Jacksonville game will be played between Aug. 9 and 12. What I really want to know about the Jets game is if they will once again insist on covering up all of the Giants' Super Bowl murals.
The Bears game will be played on Friday, Aug. 24 and be televised by CBS. The Giants will host New England on Wednesday, Aug. 29, seven days prior to their midweek regular season opener at home against the Dallas Cowboys.
So, another season creeps closer to reality.
