New York Giants News And Notes: Rule Changes, Victor Cruz, Mitch Petrus And More

Good morning, New York Giants fans! Here is some Sunday morning reading material for you.

Giants President John Mara on rule changes
John Mara has served on the NFL Competition Committee for a dozen years and during that time its most vital mandate has remained unchanged. Player safety has been and will continue to be at the forefront of all committee discussions and decisions.

"That’s the first, second and last thing that we’re concerned about," Mara said.Mara can envision a day when a far more radical change is made and NFL games are played without kickoffs.

"We had a lot of discussions about whether we should eliminate it and if we did what we could do in its place," he said. "There's no consensus on it right now, but I could see the day in the future where that play could be taken out of the game.

"I’m very passionate about our music and I believe in our sound and its originality," Petrus said. "Finally, it’s available for all to listen to. Now, every individual can decide for themselves how the Vikings of the North Atlantic compare to all the other rock bands in the industry."

If you haven't heard VONA, here is a little taste:

Is he a third-round talent without the pass rush skills to be an elite NFL player?

The answers vary depending upon whom you ask. More and more, though, Jones is a player who looks like he could come off the board somewhere within the draft's first 50 selections.

Valentine's View: I dropped this in here, but I could really care less. Eli Manning has two Super Bowl rings, and that's all that counts.
