The first three selections of our Big Blue View 2012 Community Mock Draft were pretty much scripted before we began. Pick No. 4, belonging to the Cleveland Browns, is where things begin to get a little more interesting. Playing the role of general manager for the Browns in our draft, 'NYG 28' has used the fourth overall selection on Trent Richardson of Alabama, the top-rated running back in the draft.
Here is the pick, and the reasoning:
No. 4, Cleveland Browns -- Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
This is where things get tricky. The Browns have a number of needs. They lost Hillis in free agency and haven't had a good receiving corps in years. Do they stick with Colt at QB?
The Browns need a lot of help. I mean A LOT. They recently reported that they hope to not reach for a WR at #4, Holmgren has been saying he will provide Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace with offensive weapons to do their job, and Peyton Hillis left the team via free agency. So with this pick the Browns take TRENT RICHARDSON. The best running back prospect since Adrian Peterson was drafted.
This puts a new BBV member, 'Carmine5520,' on the clock with the fifth overall selection belonging to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
