2012 NFL Draft Prospect Profiles: Kelechi Osemele, OG, Iowa State

There are a few massive offensive guards who could be selected in the early portion of the 2012 NFL Draft. We already profiled one, Georgia's Cordy Glenn. Let's use this 2012 NFL Draft Prospect Profile to look at anoher, Iowa state's 6-foot-5, 347-pound Kelechi Osemele.

Wes Bunting of the National Football Post has Osemele ranked sixth among guard prospects in this year's draft class, 57th overall. As things stand now, that might put Osemele in play for the Giants in Round 2 this April.

Bunting says:

"A big, thick kid with natural strength, athleticism and flexibility. Has improved his technique and overall range off the edge, but is better suited to play inside or on the right side at the next level."

CBS Sports ranks Osemele fourth among guard prospects and 44th overall. Dana Brugler of CBS wrote:

"He looks the part physically and is talented enough to start from day one, but expect some growing pains. Reminiscent of Michael Oher as a prospect, but he works best in a phone booth and is best suited at guard. A frustrating prospect because he doesn't always play at the high level he is capable of - will he put in the work to continue his development and reach his potential?"

Football's Future calls Osemele a "pure power guard prospect," then adds "Osemele has the raw size and natural strength to dominate defenders at the point of attack."
