Good morning, fellow Giants fans. It's 204 days until the Giants kick off the 2012 regular season, and that's not bad considering all but one of the other 31 teams has 207 days until their kickoff. Not to veer too far off course here, but it should be interesting to see who the NFL pits the Giants against in that Thursday opener--could be the Saints, Packers, or any of the teams in the NFC East. Anyway, let's see what news we can find about the Giants this morning.....
Brandon Jacobs Rumors: Jacobs Expects To Return To New York Giants - SB Nation New York
Well, Super Bowl rings certainly do change perspectives, don't they? New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, who sounded at times during the 2011 NFL season as if he couldn't wait to get away from the Giants, now says he expects to return to Big Blue for the 2012 season.
I have mixed feelings about the big fella, how about you guys?
New Era Scouting – 2012 NFL Draft Team Needs: New York Giants Edition
The Giants shocked the football world once again and won the Super Bowl by beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. They may be the champions, but this is still a team that has many needs, and can continue to get better.
I like that offensive tackle is first on the list here. I've said it before...I'd love for the Giants to grab a left tackle with their first round pick--preferably one that is equally talented, fierce, and gigantic.
New York Giants star Victor Cruz to attend (Tuesday night's) UMass men's basketball game | masslive.com
As if UMass fans didn't have enough incentive to come out to tonight's men's basketball game versus Xavier, it has come to light that New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz (was) in attendance. Multiple sources revealed that Cruz (made) the trip up to Amherst to watch the Minutemen face the Musketeers.
I'm not sure if he actually made it to the game, but what would this notebook be without a Victor Cruz reference?
NFL.com news: Giants' Umenyiora prefers to stay, but says trade makes sense
If Osi Umenyiora indeed has played his last game with the New York Giants, he has a piece of advice for teammate Victor Cruz before he walks out the door. "Make sure the length of his contract is a lot shorter than mine," Umenyiora told Sirius XM NFL Radio, via the New York Daily News, on Monday.

Here’s good news for Philadelphia Eagles fans. Sure, the Birds have fallen short of Super Bowl success again this year, depriving the region of a long-awaited victory parade. But we’re also missing out on a more dubious prize — the cascade of knickknacks that deluges fans of Super Bowl winners. And just like Andy Reid settling for bargain-basement linebackers, we’re saving big bucks in the process.
Once again, the jokes just write themselves here. Like, the Giants have four sets of knickknacks that the Eagles do not have--diamond-studded knickknacks with Roman numerals on them. The Eagles also have the distinction of being the last team the Patriots beat in a Super Bowl. So they have that, right? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
