New York Giants' safety Kenny Phillips, out since injuring his knee in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles, seems unlikely to play until at least after the Giants have their bye week following Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
"I think what's going to happen is that we're going to try and rest him this week and then through the bye and hopefully we can get him back," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Wednesday.
That, actually is an ominous-sounding quote from Coughlin after it seemed last week like Phillips was going to be ready to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Coughlin also noted that wide receiver Hakeem Nicks is again experiencing swelling in his knee, and that Chris snee played most of Sunday's game despite an ankle injury. The complete Wednesday injury report is below.
