Greetings everyone, and good vibes to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. As always, real life trumps sports, but we also know it's a nice diversion for many of you to forget about real life for a few minutes. Anyway, I've said what I had to say, now let's get to the Week 9 picks....
Kansas City at San Diego--So this is what you thought was a good idea, NFL Network? Some of these Thursday night games have been flat-out horrible match-ups, and here you have two teams that don't really want to win games. So there's that. Chargers 23, Chiefs 16
Miami at Indianapolis--Who would have thought that this would be one of the more intriguing games of the week? Colts 20, Dolphins 17
Buffalo at Houston--Whatever the over/under is on this game, I like the Texans to beat it by themselves. Texans 52, Bills 17
Baltimore at Cleveland--Suddenly, this one is interesting. The Ravens are flailing and the Browns have won two of three. At the end of the day, though, I don't see big brother Harbaugh losing this one. Ravens 22, Browns 19
Denver at Cincinnati--I wonder if any Broncos fans miss Tim Tebow. I wonder how good that Skyline Chili might taste this time of year. Broncos 28, Bengals 26
Chicago at Tennessee--Don't blink, or you might miss the Bears scoring a defensive touchdown. Bears 20, Titans 6
Detroit at Jacksonville--I was gonna pick the Jags here, but they are winless at home at 0-3. And the Lions are finding their groove. Lions 26, Jaguars 20
Arizona at Green Bay--Remember when the Cardinals were 4-0 and everyone was picking them compete with the Niners for the NFC West? After losing four straight, the Cards are now competing for the NFC West.......cellar. Packers 30, Cards 20
Carolina at Washington--Cam vs. RG3? Screw the Red Zone, I'm watching this one! Redskins 34, Panthers 27
Tampa Bay at Oakland--A rematch of the 2002 season Super Bowl, and raise your hand if you give a flying crap. Raiders 27, Bucs 26
Minnesota at Seattle--Boy, did the Vikings lay an egg at home against Tampa. Meanwhile, Seattle hung tough against Detroit and could be a fringe wild card team in a very strange NFC. Seahawks 19, Vikings 17
Steelers at Giants--For whatever reason, I like how we match up against the Steelers. Of course, Pittsburgh is best in the NFL against the run, so Eli will have to wake from his slumber. And for the love of G-d, please don't wear those bumblebee unis again. Oh, and it's a CBS game, so thankfully no Buck/Aikman. Giants 22, Steelers 19
Dallas at Atlanta--With the Cowboys floundering, I sure do appreciate the NFL scheduling this one for them right now. Falcons 28, Cowboys 20
Philadelphia at New Orleans--With the Eagles floundering, I sure do appreciate the NFL scheduling this one for them right now. Saints 38, Eagles 35
Last Week: 9-5
Season record: 72-46
