Justin Tuck, 10.04.12

A: ...containment has been an issue for us. There's just certain things you can't do with the guys like Vick or Cam Newton when you don't have a Trel (Antrel Rolle) or you don't have KP (Kenny Phillips) back there.

Q: Do you expect Weeden to be able to pick up on things quicker than your average rookie quarterback?
A: He's my age. I don't look at him as a rookie. He's experienced in his life, but he's still making some mistakes that we picked up on the film. Hopefully he continues to make those mistakes this week, but the thing I've seen from him is that he's gotten better every week. He's played great competition and some pretty good defenses and he's fared well. So he's not your normal rookie quarterback where you think you can kind of capitalize on a lot of stuff, but he has some things that we can capitalize on. Hopefully we'll be able to, but not many.

Q: Why is it that when you play one o'clock games against inferior opponents, it takes like a half to wake up or it takes a Justin Tuck speech at halftime?
A: I don't know. I wish I knew an answer because you're right. We've had a tendency to come out in a lull. I don't know. I think we are kind of guarding against that this week. Coach brought up the fact that the last time we played Cleveland... what the stakes were and how that ended up, so I think guys are on alert for that, but I won't be able to answer that question.

Q: You were on alert on a winless Miami last year.
A: Yeah, I know. I don't think a lot didn't understand that Miami was a pretty good football team, just like this team coming in. Yeah their record is 0-4, but this isn't like a slouch team. This team could easily be 4-0, so I think we're going to have to play our best game. This is a talented football team. They had Philly beat. They had Baltimore beat. They had four good teams beat if you take one or two plays away in those games, so I fully expect this to be a dogfight.

Q: Sometimes with these early games, people get antsy thinking that you should be up 14-0 after a minute.
A: I don't know. You know us, we like to put ourselves in nail biters anyway.

Q: Do you sense that sometimes though?
A: You definitely get antsy. You definitely do because you allow yourself to think back to that topic of them being 0-4, we're supposed to run over this football team. There's a lot of parity in this league, even the lower bottom class of football in this league are pretty good. So hopefully we just come out and handle our business. I don't care how we win it, as long as we win it.
