New York Giants Notes: Will Osi Umenyiora Show Up Today?

A few quick New York Giants notes to get your Friday morning, the first day of 2011 training camp, started.

We said Thursday night that Inside Football's Pat Traina was expecting defensive end Osi Umenyiora at the Timex Performance Center Today. Well, Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News has a different report. He writes that the disgruntled defensive end is "not likely" to report today and "hasn’t made up his mind" about holding out.

So, we will just have to wait and see.

Not so fast on those reports that Brad Maynard would be signing with the Giants. The New York Post reports that the Giants only offered Maynard the veteran and that the Giants are also talking with 43-year-old Matt Turk. The Post says Turk, a free agent after four years with the Houston Texans is "interested" in the Giants.

With training camp opening today, the Star-Ledger offers an excellent overview.

Former New York Giants linebacker Jessie Armstead is being sued by a Long Island man over dealings with Armstead's New Jersey Honda dealership.
