New York Giants' Top 10 NFL Draft Successes: No. 4 ... Mark Bavaro

In terms of draft successes, tight end Mark Bavaro unquestionably has to be considered one of the greatest draft picks the New York Giants ever made. The greatest tight end in franchise history, Bavaro was not selected until the fourth round of the 1985 NFL Draft, the 100th player selected.

Bavaro caught 266 passes in six Giants seasons, but that doesn't tell the story. The toughness, the blocking, the incredibly quiet, almost mysterious, way he went about his business. If you were old enough to watch and remember the Giants of that era Bavaro had to be one of your favorite Giants, and most likely still is. I know that is the case for me.

The play below was Bavaro's signature play, and remains one of my favorite Giants' plays of all time.
