BBV Community Mock Draft 2011: Rodney Hudson, Mikel LeShoure Off The Board

The next two picks in our Big Blue View Community Mock Draft turn out to be two players many of you would like to see wind up as New York Giants. With the 55th pick over, 'The Blood Of Eli' took Florida State G/C Rodney Hudson for Kansas City. With the 56th pick, 'Charles L' snatched up Illinois running back Mikel LeShoure for the New Orleans Saints.

Here are the explanations:

Kansas City Chiefs (55th overall) -- Rodney Hudson, G/C, Florida State

At 6-foot-2,300 pounds, he has the skill set to play either guard or center and be successful at either in the NFL. The Chiefs have a very old interior offensive line, especially at center. This guy could actually step in and take the starting job right away. With this pick, the Chiefs can fill an extremely important need and keep that rushing offense among the best in the NFL in 2011. -- The Blood Of Eli

New Orleans Saints (56th overall) -- Mikel LeShoure, RB, Illinois

Mikel Leshoure is, in my mind, without a doubt the best player left on the board, period. I can't believe he fell this far. A big power back with great speed and decent hands, he absolutely fills a need on a Saints' running back corps composed of castoffs and busts and decimated by injuries for the past two years.

I'd originally come into this draft planning on going pure BPA. Luckily, for both of the Saints' picks, BPA just happened to match up with need. Reunited with his former University of Illinois teammate, Pierre Thomas, and lining up
behind one of the best offensive lines in the league (that "Drew Brees" guy isn't too shabby either), the Saints should once again boast a truly frightening offensive juggernaut. -- Charles L.

My take: Rodney Hudson is a good player and I know some of you would have preferred I take him instead of Stefen Wisniewski for the Giants back at No. 52. Yet, I'm not sure about this pick for Kansas City.I keep hearing about the Chiefs wanting a wide receiver at some point, and there are a couple of good ones on the board here -- Boise State's Titus Young and Leonard Hankerson of Miami (Fla.).

As for New Orleans, the Saints strike gold with Mikel LeShoure lasting this far into the second round. I like this pick a whole lot better than the first-round pick or defensive end Ryan Kerrigan, to be honest.
