Giants Issuing RFA Tenders

[UPDATE: Add Mathias Kiwanuka and Steve Smith to the list of players who received RFA tenders, though the level of those tenders is unclear.]

The New York Giants are issuing RFA tenders today, as Ralph Vacchiano of the Daily News wrote earlier today that they might. There are some surprises, and if you are a Twitter user you can follow the Star-Ledger's Mike Garafolo to get them all.

So far, MG has reported second-round tenders for running back Ahmad Bradshaw, defensive tackle Barry Cofield, tight end Kevin Boss and defensive end Dave Tollefson.

Vacchiano had reported earlier that the Giants were likely to give a first- and third-round tender to Bradshaw.

The issuance of these tenders might turn out to be moot once the new collective bargaining agreement is in place, but under the current system this is what the Giants need to do with to try and keep their restricted free agents.

Anyone else surprised by the lower tender for Bradshaw? Maybe it is an indication that the Giants, as much as they like him, won't pay elite running back money to keep him.
