Well, this is not the news I wanted to read before signing off the computer and getting ready for bed. The Tennessee Titans have reportedly asked for permission to talk with New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell about their vacant head coaching job.
The New York Daily News is reporting that Fewell, Titans offensive line coach Mike Munchak, Falcons offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey and Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger are on the Titans list of candidates.
Here we go again. Fewell was a candidate earlier for jobs in Cleveland, Denver, San Francisco and Carolina. He interviewed in all of those places except Cleveland.
Most reports seem to indicate Fewell is not a serious candidate in Tennessee, more likely getting an interview to fulfill the Rooney Rule requirement of interviewing a minority candidate. It was earlier thought that former Dallas assistant coach Ray Sherman would interview in Tennessee, fulfilling the requirement. That, however, did not materialize.
