Akers, 36, has converted 19 of 21 field-goal attempts, every one of his 21 extra-point attempts and notched 24 touchbacks on his 47 kickoffs.

"David has been darn near perfect, that’s how impressive he’s been," 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said. "I can’t imagine there’s any kicker that’s bringing more to their team than David Akers is this year."
