When the New York Giants added center Jim Cordle and cornerback Justin Tryon to the active roster on Tuesday, the only player they removed was wide receiver Brandon Stokley. Another roster move was promised today, and that has come to pass as the Giants have terminated the contract of veteran cornerback Brian Williams.
A 10-year veteran, Williams was signed when Terrell Thomas was lost for the season. He played very little, however.
Pre-Practice Injury Update
The Giants don't always send me this stuff on Wednesdays, but since I have it this week here it is.
David Baas, Justin Tuck and Brandon Jacobs won't practice, Osi Umenyiora and Rocky Bernard will and Michael Boley might. And Prince Amukamara is not expected to return to the field until after the Giants' Oct. 23 bye.
Baas, who has a burner, is day-to-day, Coughlin said. Kevin Boothe, who played center the entire second half of the Giants' victory Sunday at Arizona, will again step in for Baas.
Tuck has neck and groin injuries which kept him out of the Cardinals game. Regarding Boley and Jacobs, Coughlin said, "Their knees are a little bit swollen. Boley may try to go today. Both are scheduled to go to tomorrow."
Umenyiora (knee) and Bernard (ribs) are on the early injury report, but Coughlin said they will practice.
