Here is the latest on the serious car accident New York Giants' rookie safety Chad Jones was involved in earlier today.
Around 7:15 a.m. Eastern Time, Jones, traveling with two passengers, lost control of his SUV and crashed into a streetcar pole. When medical personnel and the New Orleans Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the crash, Jones was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be pulled out before being transported to the LSU Trauma Center, NOFD spokesman Jonathan Pajeaud told the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
WWL-TV in New Orleans reportedthat, as of 11:15 a.m. Eastern Time, Jones was in surgery at the hospital, as doctors attempted to get blood flowing back into his foot.
Jones fractured his left leg in the wreck and sustained damage to nerves and arteries, according to the TV station's report. WWL-TV also reported that medical personnel were trying to get blood flowing back to Jones' foot.
