Yep. Current Giant Steve Smith, whose 107 receptions in 2009 set a single-season franchise record. In fact, Smith is the only Giant receiver to ever crack the 100-catch barrier.
Smith was also the first Giant wide receiver named to the Pro Bowl since Homer Jones went twice in the late 1960s.
The historical significance has not been lost on Smith.
"That is a great honor," Smith said. "I cant believe it has been that long since a Giants' wide receiver has made it. It is pretty cool to have done that given it hasn't been done in such a long time."
A couple of other notes about the number 12. Scott Brunner wore it from 1980-83, and Jared Lorenzen in 2005-2006. The Hefty Lefty switched to 13 when Smith arrived in 2007.
