Let's take a little break today from the 'Giants By The Numbers' posts. We are up to 19, and you are not going to like how that number turns out, anyway.
Besides, there is some real Giants news today.
- I am smiling today, and it isn't just because I toured the new stadium Wednesday (or snuck in 9 holes of golf this morning). It's because the Giants are almost certain to be holding training camp in Albany this summer, 20 minutes from where I live.
CEO John Mara had this to say about training camp.
"We’re inching our way north."
Sorry, MG, Ralph, Ernie P., Pat and the rest of you 'regular' beat writers. Looks like you will be coming back to my neck of the woods for a few weeks this summer. - Speaking of Mara, ESPN New York says he seems to be feeling much better about the state of the Giants than he did when last year's playoff-less season ended.
"I'm very happy with where we are right now," Mara said while standing on the field at the New Meadowlands Stadium after a news conference for New York's 2014 Super Bowl bid. "We have a couple of question marks which hopefully get ironed out in training camp, but going into this season we should be a better team than we were last year. We better be."

FOXNews reports that the latest developments in the Lawrence Taylor story could help the former Giants' superstar. I hate this story, and I wish I never had to write a word about it. But, it has to be done.

John Fennelly of GiantsFootballBlog caught up with David Tyree at a fund-raiser recently, and has a nice interview. I get a slew of invites to events like this and it's the only time I actually wish I lived closer to the city rather than just outside of Albany.

Sometimes ESPN's Matt Mosley makes me shake my head. The other day he asked the question "Is Phillip Dillard a viable candidate to start at middle linebacker?' for the Giants. Umm, yes, Matt, he is a living, breathing middle linebacker -- and one of about eight guys the Giants have listed at the position. So, he really is a viable candidate.
