BBV Community Mock Draft: With 25th pick, Ravens select ...

Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State.

Playing the role of Baltimore GM, "LarrySoprano" writes:

The Ravens acquisition of Anquan Boldin filled their glaring need for a playmaker at the WR position. They also re-signed Derrick Mason and brought in Donte’ Stallworth to help solidify the position. However, the Ravens gave up this year's third- and fourth-round picks for Boldin. Still, the trade allowed Baltimore to keep its two highest picks, which I feel will force their hand to pick more for need than allow them to take just the BPA. Luckily for the Ravens one of the BPA at the 25 spot happens to fill one of their positions of need.

Baltimore has health issues at the CB position with Lardarius Webb and Fabian Washington rehabbing knee injuries. Both players may not be 100 percent by the start of training camp. Wilson is rated right behind Joe Haden as one of the top corners in the draft. Some have declared him as the best press coverage CB coming out. He had an impressive showing at the Senior Bowl where he proved he was the top cornerback there and cemented himself as a first round caliber talent. In addition, he has shown he is a great athlete who can be used as a kick returner and is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He should be able to fill an immediate need and provide instant impact to their Secondary and Special Teams.

The other area of need for Baltimore is their D-Line. With the recent departure of defensive lineman Dwan Edwards to the Bills in free agency, they could use some added depth at the position. I was tempted to take Jared Odrick here; however, this draft has been touted as one very deep with DL talent. The Ravens will be able to address the DL later on.

My take: The best corner available, a first-round talent, and a good choice for a franchise that still makes its living on defense.

'Sniipah' is up next with the Arizona Cardinals selection.
