Remember to play nice, boys

Some of the recent debates around here about what our New York Giants should do in the upcoming NFL Draft have gotten a bit contentious.

Chill out a bit, fellas! Last I checked no one who posts here is an NFL GM. Or a paid scout for an NFL team. No one here has a pipeline to Giants General Manager Jerry Reese.

What we have is enthusiasm. A love for the Giants. A desire to see them hit a home run with every draft pick, and win every game.

Many of you absolutely love the whole draft process, and seem to consider yourselves 'experts.' Not to burst any bubbles, but no one here is an 'expert' in the NFL draft. For crying out loud guys, the people who get paid to study this stuff don't really know what is going to happen.

So, how can any of us? We can't. Period. Free agency has not come yet. There might be trades on the horizon. I don't know. You don't know. Geesh, Reese doesn't even know right now. We have opinions, that's all.

So, I'm asking you guys to cool it. Stop talking like you KNOW Player X is better than Player Y who is better than Player Z, and you know for a fact one player will have a better career than another. You don't know. No one 'knows' these things. That's why Sinorice Moss can be a second-round pick, and Marques Colston can be a seventh-rounder.

Make your point, state your OPINION and respect the fact that people are allowed to disagree with you. If you don't want to be disagreed with, keep your opinion to yourself.

I am enjoying writing the Prospect Profiles. Let's keep the debate constructive so I can continue writing them.
