Tom Coughlin met the press today as the New York Giants returned from their bye week and began preparing for the Seattle Seahawks. The Giants coach had some surprising injury news to report.
Reserve cornerback Bruce Johnson had arthroscopic knee surgery during the bye week. Coughlin said how long Johnson will be sidelined is not yet certain. Also, center Shaun O'Hara has a "mild mid-foot sprain" unrelated to the ankle injury he has been dealing with all season. His status for Sunday is unknown.
Other Injury News
Coughlin said Will Beatty, sidelined since early in the season with a broken foot, has begun working on the side. Kevin Boothe, on the PUP list since the beginning of training camp, has also begun practicing. The Giants have to make a decision on whether to IR him, cut him or add him to the roster soon and Coughlin said he is "anxious to watch him this week." Fullback Madison Hedgecock has also returned to practice, although apparently on a limited scale.
