Irvin weighs in on WR debate

Michael Irvin told Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News that he was 'floored and shocked' the Giants did not trade for Braylon Edwards or Anquan Boldin.

Here is Irvin's full quote.

I’m floored and shocked that you didn’t go get Braylon Edwards all Anquan Boldin. I really am. Both of them are very good guys and I think they would’ve fit perfectly in their scheme. So I am shocked that they did not go get those guys.

I'm sure we will debate whether or not that was the right move for the rest of the off-season. In fact, we will keep debating it during training camp, every time Eli has a bad game throughout the season or one of the young receivers makes a mistake, and maybe even for the next two or three years.

Only the long-term performance of the youngsters will ultimately answer the question. We can talk about it all we want -- and I know everyone has an opinion. The reality is, though, no one will know the answer any time soon.

Just remember -- In Reese We Trust.
