Injury Update II

So, here's what we've got in terms of injuries, courtesy of Giants.com, the official team site.

Brandon Jacobs as we said earlier, has a sprained MCL of the right knee. He will miss several weeks.

Osi Umenyiora has an irritation to the lateral meniscus of his left knee. He is going to be re-evaluated later in the week. My guess is that he doesn't play this week, and maybe not for a while after that. This sounds like one of those deals where the Giants aren't exactly sure yet how bad this injury is.

Eli Manning has a contusion to the right A-C joint. He is listed as day-to-day and his status for Sunday against Green Bay is uncertain. The team said he does not, however, have a separated shoulder as had been reported by some media outlets.

So, not great news. But not nearly as bad as it could have been.

NOTES: The Giants have signed veteran defensive tackle Russell Davis, a 9-year veteran who most recently played for Seattle. The Giants have to release a player Tuesday. My money is on either William Joseph or Adrian Awasom, and I'm praying it's Joseph.
