Just read on Ernie Palladino's Giants Journal that the Giants have placed Jim Finn on injured reserve, ending his season before it ever started. According to Palladino, Finn has a torn labrum.
I don't exactly see this as a big blow since the Giants have been making noise about replacing Finn, anyway.
It does leave wide open the question of who will play fullback. I would hope this opens up the possibility that the Giants will use some two-back sets with Brandon Jacobs and Reuben Droughns, or with one of those guys and whoever earns the third-down back role.
I'm just dying to see a little creative thinking here. You guys think offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride might be up to that?
