A few non-Giants related thoughts

There has been so much info to get out to you regarding the Giants draft, the move of Mathias Kiwanuka to linebacker, etc., that I haven't really had an opportunity to comment on some of the other NFL news of recent days.

Well, I'd like to take a couple minutes right here to do that. So, let's go through some of what has happened.

Patriots get Moss: This will be interesting -- one of the NFL's premier bad boys playing for one of the sternest coaches and most reputable franchises. My guess is that Moss will be tremendous for the Patriots.

New England has added Moss, Donte Stallworth and Wes Welker as receivers for Tom Brady. They have added linebacker Adaleus Thomas and cornerback Tory James on defense. On paper, the Patriots look untouchable.

Keyshawn blindsided: There is no way Keyshawn Johnson saw his release from the Carolina Panthers coming. After the team drafted Dwayne Jarrett Saturday, Johnson said on ESPN how much he was looking forward to teaching the rookie. Turns out, Jarrett is a replacement, not a pupil. Later, Keyshawn!

Bills did well: Buffalo is getting criticized for taking running back Marshawn Lynch with their first pick, 12th overall. I don't get it. Lynch was a projected mid-first round pick, the Bills were in dire need of an every down back, and Lynch was the best one on the board. On top of that, the Bills traded up in the second round and got linebacker Paul Posluszny, a first-round value who will start. I thought Buffalo did well.

Pac-Man wasting his time: Pac-Man Jones is appealing his one-year suspension. Unfortunately for him, the appeal will be heard by Commissioner Roger Goodell, who handed down the original punishment. Uh, Pac-Man, see ya in 2008!
