By now it should be pretty obvious that if the Giants are going to bring in any impact players, especially on defense, they will come from next month's draft.
Now that linebacker Cato June, the last real big name on the board, has signed with Tampa Bay there is really nobody left. The Giants, it seems, never seriously entertained looking at June.
You might see a veteran backup offensive lineman brought in, and possibly the Giants will make a run at placekicker Olindo Mare when the Dolphins get around to releasing him, but that's about it. There isn't much else out there.
Maybe some useful -- and less expensive players -- will become available in June when teams make more roster cuts.
It looks, however, like the Giants could be awfully thin in a few areas unless GM Jerry Reese hits a home run in the draft.
Your thoughts?
NOTE: I'm still looking for some mock draft help. I want to get a mock posted by some time on Tuesday, so if you want to send me one hustle up.
