Raheem Brock calls Jay Cutler a 'sissy'

The latest round of criticism against Jay Cutler disgusts me. The Bears QB sprained his MCL during the NFC Championship game and doctors told him not to return. Now assholes like Deion Sanders and...

Jay Cutler -- interception machine

Wow, what a great trade the Chicago Bears made in getting quarterback Jay Cutler. He was going to be the missing piece that would finally give Chicago a big-league quarterback. The Bears and their...

Cutler Traded... To Who? For HOW MUCH??

When Jay Cutler found out the Broncos were surreptiously trying to send him to Detroit in a trade to get 2009's version of Scott Mitchell, I'm sure he didn't think he was going to end up calling...

The Curious Case of Matt Cassel

Over the weekend, the New England Patriots traded both LB Mike Vrabel and QB Matt Cassel to the Kansas City Chiefs for the Chiefs' second round draft pick in this year's draft, the 34th overall...

The Bears Bravado Costs them Again

The Bears talked smack before the Packers game, and got crushed. Now, they talk about getting a "wakeup call" from the 49ers' debacle. But is it too late to fix this ship?

Only 25 Quarterbacks Are Currently Better than Cutler Now!

To revisit Dave Gilbert's article from last week: Jay has moved up into a tie for 14th place for number of touchdowns (5). He moved down to a tie for 5th place for number of interceptions (6). He moved up to 22nd for yards per game (229.3). He moved up to 25th place for completion percentage (57.3%). He moved up to 20th place for passing yards (917). He is tied for 3rd-most number of sacks (13).

Cutler's 'Night Blindness' Diabetic retinopathy (the most common visual issue in diabetics), which can cause night vision issues, takes years of consistently high blood sugar to start to cause problem. It come from slowly developing vascular changes in the retina in response to chronically elevated sugar levels. There are sometimes acute visual problems if your blood sugar spikes and causes increased pressure in the eye (glaucoma), but that causes blurry vision and is reversible. Cuter has type I diabetes (autoimmune destruction of of his insulin-producing cells), not type II (insulin resistance from too much fat tissue), even though it was first diagnosed as an adult. He also has amazing care and control of his sugar levels (he can afford the best medical care available). It has been reported that he gets his blood sugar checked during that game itself, sometimes as often as after every series, with correcting action taken if necessary (drink some juice if low, take a shot of insulin if high). His sugar levels may even be more regulated than us non-diabetics due to the frequency of monitoring he goes through. As long as Cutler and his team doctors are vigilant (and there’s no reason to believe they aren’t), diabetes will never be a problem for him during his playing career. It was before it was diagnosed, and it may 20 years after he retires (if he’s not careful about controlling his sugar), but not now.

Jay Cutler turned in one of the worst performances of his career last night at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. That’s all well and good if you’re a fan of the Green Bay Packers and...
