Around SBN: Has Kentucky Improved Since the Non-Conference Season?

Don't forget to vote!

If you haven't voted for the placekicker on our all-time Giants team, today is your last day to do it.

Right now, that vote is nearly a deadlock between Pete Gogolak and Matt Bahr. If you have an opinion, go and vote. I will announce the results tomorrow and we will then begin selecting defensive players.

By the way, I don't vote in these things. In the event of a tie, though, I will break it.

• If you haven't been following it, the SBN Mock Draft is through the first eight selections. There have been a couple of surprises already.

By the way, when it gets close to time for me to make the Giants' selection I am hoping to have the opportunity to get some input from you guys.

• In case you missed it, Jared Lorenzen signed his one-year tender offer the other day. He will likely battle it out with Anthony Wright for the third quarterback slot.

Despite all the mockery he gets from BBVers, JL seems to have something that intrigues Giants management.  Some day, I'd like to find out what it is.  Admittedly, his physical presence makes him an easy target.  On the other hand, he has never had a chance to show why they keep him around.

George
I'd have to agree. I really don't want to see him HAVE to play, but I am curious why they keep giving him chances. I was surprised last season when Wright passed on the depth chart and got the backup gig after the season had already started.

Wasn't the big guy
second only to Eli in the SEC in passing. I don't see how Wright could have beeen all that much better. Maybe because of more NFL experience but, certainly not in upside. From the limited exposure during preseason as well as what I've seen in print he has the arm strength of a Jeff George and nobody does the QB sneak better. Like Ed I don't want to see him have to play but if nothing else he's super intriguing.

Right on all counts, bbwc
I've never seen anyone throw the long ball so effortlessly, nor such a brute on the QB sneak.
