Shockey going, going ...

Pro Football Talk is saying this morning that it is now "widely expected" that Jeremy Shockey will be a New Orleans Saint before the day is done.

The catch is how high of a draft pick the Giants can squeeze from the Saints.

Well, it will be an entertaining day.

theres no need to trade shockey
if we can get serious compensation for him then it'd be ok with it but theres no reason to let this guy go for a 3rd rounder or worse.  he still has some tremendous value.

eh
I'd trade him. Look at what losing Tiki did for the clubhouse chemistry. Shockey'd likely be the same. He's talented, but he's a headcase, and frankly, I'm sick of headcases in this league.

Here's the thing, Die Eagles:
there are times you can't get value for a guy you want to get rid of because he just doesn't fit in.  The Raiders only got a 4th rounder from the Patriots for Moss.  They had to get rid of him. Reese is giving every indication he'll dig his heels in and get what he says thinks is fair value for Shock.  It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

yeah but for all his BS
i cant put shockey's whining on the same level as moss' baggage.  i see your point tho.

reading the article
I am not convinced that the deal will get done.

If it happens, it will probably be right at the time of the pick, so keep an eye open whenever the saints are up

I think the last straw...
...was all the mouthing off he's been doing this offseason.  I think they'd have been happy to bring him back, but once again he refused to come north to train, and on top of that he's complaining about his status on the team.  I like him as a player, but the whole dynamic of the team has changed, and he's not changing with it.  It's too bad...I hope they get good value.

Agreed
He does not seem to have learned anything.
