Pacman to be a Cowboy -- and I think that's just fine
Pacman Jones is going to be a Dallas Cowboy -- if Roger Goodell lets him back in the league, that is.
That is as good a reason as any to take a break from all my poetry/songwriting -- and Giants discussion -- and look at what is happening around the league as the draft approaches.
As for the Cowboys, owner Jerry Jones is continuing to turn his team into the old-time Oakland Raiders -- a halfway house for misfits.
He's got TO. He's got Tony 'Jetsetter' Romo, who might be more interested in getting a ring for Jessica than one for his team. Now he's got Pacman, the baddest of the league's bad boys. He's got a lame-duck coach in Wade Phillips, whose anointed successor is already on his staff.
Good luck controlling that mob, Wade! Jones has collected a ton of talent, but the Cowboys are still a mess -- a ticking time bomb waiting to implode. As Giants fans, I suspect we will enjoy the show.
Of course, over at Blogging The Boys they disagree.
From 'Grizz.'
Grizz, you're a great blogger. But, if you think Pacman will stay clean you are simply acting like a delusional fan.
• The Bengals recently turned down two (yes, two) No. 1 picks for Chad Johnson. Why anyone would offer that much I don't know. Now, though, Johnson is threatening not to show up if the Bengals keep him. Ugly stuff, but entertaining as hell. Speaking of the Bengals, they got ripped by ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit.

• About that new platform. It will be unveiled here tomorrow. I seem to be having a little trouble lately getting my dates straight. Anyway, be sure to check it out.

Heck
Listened to an interesting segment on the Colin Cowherd show the other day, basically Todd McShay has done a study going back a few years, and the teams that have been the best in the NFL (Pats & Colts at the top, but the Giants were one of the teams mentioned) have drafted often and have drafted well. Teams that trade away draft picks or make reach picks don't do well. I mean, it seems obvious, but he actually went back and retrograded all the drafts and the correlation was very high. I'd take picks for a player any time.

Joe
This was my line of thinking....
TO has a big mouth and whines regularly - FACT
Pacman has issues, many of which have put him in the spotlight because of where he hangs out and who he hangs out with - FACT
While I was making fun of the potential situation, I don't really think that the scenario I was laughing about is that far - fetched.
So it wasn't intended to be 'trash talking', especially since TO is who he is and Pacman is who he is.

haha
BTW, for fans of other sports, it was interesting to see: I think the NFL's longest playoff appearance drought went back to 1998, the NHL's went back to 2001, and the NBA's went all the way back to...2004. MLB, by the way, has 3 teams that haven't made the playoffs since before I started following sports in 1991: Royals, Brewers, and Expos/Nats
