GIANTS WIN! GIANTS WIN! GIANTS WIN! GIANTS WIN!

Super Bowl Champions!

Giants 17, Patriots 14

The Giants are Super Bowl Champions!

Oh my God! I am still not sure I believe what I just saw.

Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning and the fantastic Giants' defense ended New England's pursuit of perfection Sunday with a thrilling 17-14 victory.

There can never again be any doubt whether Eli Manning can lead a team to the promised land, or whether Tom Coughlin can coach a Super Bowl winner.

Super Bowl champs! Super Bowl champs! Super Bowl champs!

I can't believe it. And I can't get enough of saying it.

As Commissioner Roger Goodell said "The New York Giants are once again Super Bowl champs."

Yessssss!!!!!!!

I will be back in the morning with some analysis, and the 'Kudos & Wet Willies.'

Super Bowl champs. That has a beautiful sound.

Congratulations to the Giants
As a Cowboy fan, I thought the Giants were thee most dangerous team heading into the playoffs, a team I didn't want to face in the second round. Beating the number one and two seed in the NFC in the Cowboys and Packers on the road and beating thee best team in the NFL in the Patriots today becoming only the second wildcard team to win the superbowl, winning ten straight games on the road, Congratulations to the Giants and their fans for an outstanding win and football game..

Oh dear god that was great.
I'm about to head out to Myrtle ave over here in brooklyn, where it's already chaos. But first, thanks BigBlueView for being here all season, and fuckin a', thanks Eli. That breakaway from the sack and then throw, caught on the helmet, is probably the greatest play I've every seen in Superbowl history. SUPERBOWL FUCKING CHAMPIONS!!

I like how Brady was baffled
when Plaxico Buress predicted a Giants 23-17 win, and said, "We're only going to score 17 points?" Guess what Tom, you scored 14.

.the greatest win in Giants history
makes up for all those frustrating losses in championship games over the years.  I thought Accorsi made a mistake giving up so much to get Eli, but these last five games prove he knew what he was doing.  I never thought Strahan could have the year he did.  Wrong again.  We have the makings of a dynsty here, foks.

WOOOHOOOO!!!!!
Oh my God.  Oh my God.  Oh my God.

Eli Manning leads us to the promised land with a gutty and at times magnificent performance?

My God.  Is this real life?

Super Bowl
When you guys are done celebrating in NY, hop a flight to Indy and I'm sure you'll have quite the turnout for a victory parade down Meridian St.  How sweet it is to see the Pats knocked down, and congrats to Eli for silencing the critics!

Giants defense
Remember how awful it looked in the first 2 games of the season.  Who'da thunk that same defensive corps would hold the New England juggernaut to 14 points.  Watching them make Brady eat turf was immensely satisfying even when the Giants were losing.

Manning to Tyree will be played forever on Superbowl highlight reels.

I've always been a believer in Eli,
and so that amazing catch by Tyree was that much sweeter because of Eli's eluding the pass rush.  I thought that he was going down for sure, but he popped out of the crowd and made that throw.

Maybe it's divine intervention.  Today is one of the best days ever!

Cowboys fan here
and I have never been so pleased with a Giants victory.  Way to break up the perfect season of the Pats, and of course. Congrats!  I can't believe I just cheered for the Giants the past 4 hours!  Eli has officially arrived.
How 'bout them Cowboys?!

by Volorado on Feb 3, 2008 11:32 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

unbelievable
that was, by far, the greatest football game I've ever watched. Eli Manning, welcome to the big time, that pass to Tyree will go down in Super Bowl lore. Man, I'm still somewhat in shock. Even my Eagles fan roommate who hates the Giants more than any team but Dallas was pulling for them by the end of the game....it was like the end of Rocky IV when the Russians start cheering for Rocky. There are really no words to describe how awesome this was. Does anyone know when the victory parade is going to be?

Also, where is TruePatsFan now?

Congratulations from Seahawks Fans!
Wow, that was the best Super Bowl I've ever watched.  Absolutely amazing.  Peyton Manning is my favorite player in the NFL, so it's nice to know I'll have another legit Manning to watch once Peyton hangs 'em up.  Great game, and I LOVE that you guys held Brady under Plax's prediction.  It's surreal even for me.

Still think we would've beaten you in the NFC Championship game though, if it happened ;)

Enjoy your offseason, and congrats on the most amazing Super Bowl victory in history!

Congrats Giants fans
from another Colts fan. Little brother grows up right before our eyes just in time to knock off the Evil Empire. Hollywood couldn't have written it better. What an amazing game. One of the best Super Bowls, and right up there with the Jets beating the Colts for Super Bowl upsets. Enjoy the offseason as World Champions.

i, just like the majority of america
was a HUGE giants fan tonight.

congratulations, you guys deserved it 100%.

i know that i, coming into the season, thought that eli manning was a bust. that he would never do much of anything in his career, a league average QB.

and for much of the season, he didnt do much to prove me wrong. but starting against the patriots in week 17, he played absolutely phenomenal, especially the last couple ones in the playoffs.

congratulations giant fans, the david tyree catch was the greatest catch i have ever seen, im pretty sure.

this was probably the greatest superbowl of all time, and was the first one since 2002 (pats vs. rams) where the majority of america was behind one team.

hopefully it doesnt come out six years later that you guys cheated.... ;)

CONGRATS!

Hey Giants fans...
That was incredible. That without a doubt was the greatest upset in NFL history. What a great way to win it. Congratulations to you all and have a great week of celebrating.

The New York Football Giants WIN!
The game has been over for over three hours and I'm still too wired to sleep.  But, so worth it... Because, the New York football Giants won the unwinnable.  I spent much of the day cleaning my apt. and getting ready for Super Bowl party I was hosting and all day long on tv (FOX, ESPN) and on the radio (WFAN) NOBODY gave them any chance.  Just like nobody gave them any chance over the past two weeks.  But, they showed them.  Eli and Tyree and Plaxico and Toomer and the Defense with Strahan and Osi and Tuck.  And good ol' Jeff Feagles making it to the show at his advanced age and bringing home a victory.

I told one of my friend's after the Pats scored with 2 1/2 to play that it was Eli time.  She looked at me all doubtful, but Eli proved me right.  Although, admittedly, I really wasn't that sure of myself when I made that statement. But, Eli showed me and the rest of the world what he was made of.

GO G-MEN!

And one day I will forgive my brother-in-law for going to this game and not taking me.  Oh well, at least I got a t-shirt.
