Two more years for Feagles

Punter Jeff Feagles will return to the Giants for two more seasons. ESPN has all the details.

That is great news. Feagles, 42, is a tremendous weapon and as long as he wants to keep playing the Giants should keep him in blue.

Awesome!
You didn't mention Strahan in your list below so I assume he's not a free agent but it would be great - I think - if he came back for a try at a repeat.

Gunning for George Blanda?
Wow, a 2 year deal at 42 years old.  I'm ecstatic that Feagles is coming back, but I wonder if he's gunning for "the oldest man to play in the NFL."  After this contract is up, if he's still punting away at a high level (very possible), he'd have to think, "What the hell, I'm doing this until I'm fifty."

I love Feagles
there have been more than a few times over the past few seasons when I've felt he was the team MVP (I'm only half joking)...heck, I'd be willing to keep him on the roster for the next half decade, if the team didn't mind carrying 2 punters (1 "long kicker" for when they're pinned deep, and Feagles for when they are past the 35 yard line

MVP
I wasn't even joking when I said I thought Feagles was the team MVP in 2006.

Blanda played quarterback at age 48...
so it should be easy for Feagles to make it to at least 52 as a punter.

Feagles
He can probably play several more seasons, if he chooses. His game has never been about length. It's always placement. As long as he puts the ball where it can't be returned he can hang around. Those 60-yard punts usually get a 25-30 yard return, anyway.

This is good news
although I gotta admit, the Tynes signing is a bit of a headscratcher. I'm wondering if amounts to something of a reward for his improbable game winning kick in OT in Green Bay.

At the very least, I'd have expected the Giants would bring another PK or two into camp next August to provide some competition. After all the inconsistency Tynes showed this year, I find it hard to believe that there's not another decent PK out there that's at least his equal.

We don't know how the Tynes deal was structured
A 4 year $7 Mill contract could be heavily back loaded and loaded with incentives.

So, it locks the fact that he is going to start off in camp, but if he goes into a slump, or if they get in another kicker who is considerably better, they can probably cut him with minimal impact to the cap.

This is just guess, but I think it makes sense.

I guess we have to give Reese
the benefit of the doubt since he has impressed with nearly all his moves so far.  Tynes hasn't done anything that would make me give him that kind of contract.  But since we really don't know the details I guess we should just wait and see.

If he didn't make that third kick in thd Packers game he would already be looking for a new job.
