being so close to the Mexican border
means you guys get that top choice weed huh. Brady will put up 50 on that defense.

Technically

Yo,
where are you know? You loose, so you split? No more trash talking?...

Chargers win
That's a stunner. Can't believe they beat the Colts in Indy. Hopefully, our Giants do the same thing to the Cowboys!!

by Ed Valentine on Jan 13, 2008 4:26 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You know why I feel sorry for the Cowboys?
Because they don't have an internet-literate fan base, so the one or two fans they have who can actually lay their greasy fingers on a computer keyboard have to come over here to talk about the game.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 4:28 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

lol!!!
BTB averages about 400 hits on their game threads and I bet its more today.

You guys will be lucky to get 100 today.

I wonder who Aikman will be pulling for?
This broadcast team is going to suck big time.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 4:41 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I was really shocked to hear that
Jimmy Johnson came up with a nice pep talk for the Cowboys on the pre-game show.  I really thought he might pick against them given his, you know, impartiality.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 4:45 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

actually Troy goes out of his way
to be very critical of the Cowboys when he does their games.

by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 4:46 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Actually he does.
He gets upset when they don't dominate the opposition quite enough for his liking.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 4:58 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I wouldn't mind the bias
if Aikman weren't also a bad analyst (paired with a bad PBP guy, even).  I wouldn't mind Moose Johnston nearly as much.  (And he'd be paired with Sam Rosen, so there'd be some semblance of Dallas-NY balance.)

by Josh on Jan 13, 2008 4:46 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Jesus Christ
It's 4:45 just start the fucking game already, Coughlin is going to die of old age during all this pregame and commercials and shit.

by Josh on Jan 13, 2008 4:45 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree
but I it's so close I don't think they'll overturn it.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 5:25 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

According to the independent observers
on the teevee it's an easy call.

It could be overturned but I'm dubious that they actually will.

T.O. was definitely in
BTW, Mr Met, BTB is at 192 comments, this site, 37

by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 5:37 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

you put 8 men in the box
Romo and T.O. will play pitch and catch all day

by Terry on Jan 13, 2008 5:42 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Let me clarify
Mitchell looks weak right now. Bring in Wilkinson, who has been playing great.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 5:46 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yaaaa!
What happened! Giants WIN!!!! I guess you are eating your words now, huh....

by All Day on Jan 13, 2008 10:51 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Fkin' Webster, man.
Had to catch that one.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 5:54 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That would have been
the momentum shift that was needed.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:00 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Alright Eli
Let's see you work the no huddle like we know you can.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:03 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Eli made a nice move there
in the pocket but then rushed the throw.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:11 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah, man!
Our 1 minute drive = their 10 1/2 minute drive!

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:13 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow - what a huge TD
If only our defense could figure something out...

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:16 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah
They absolutely have to find a way to pressure Romo.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:20 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think we've taken them out of their offensive
game plan.  That long drive of theirs was reminscaent of the Giants undser Parcells.  They're taking what we're giving them.  Our comeback was spectacular.  The offense has to give the defense some rest in the second half.  This is one hell of a gritty Giants team.

by george cronin on Jan 13, 2008 6:22 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Er, if that's "out of their offense"
I'm sort of inclined to let them go ahead and run the offense they want.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:26 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

But
No long plays & the Giants are staying in the game. If they can just get pressure, then they'll be golden.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:27 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Right - but we also need to stop the run
and stop them from converting a 3rd down one of these times.  They had 2 90+ yard drives.  That's not going to get it done.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:28 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

What the hell is going on?
They've been offsides like 3 times this drive & it hasn't been called!

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:37 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

TO might be ready for a meltdown.
This would be as good a time as any.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:42 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Defense
Geez, we have got to find a way to get to Romo. Cowboys are just going up and down the field. Now Ross is hurt. Yikes!!!

by Ed Valentine on Jan 13, 2008 6:44 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Great return - the question again,
what happened to Hixon on the last kickoff at the end of the 1st half?

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 6:45 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I think they might have had a designed play
for Bradshaw on that kick off. He can also run with the rock pretty well.

by DoctorK16 on Jan 13, 2008 6:47 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Drive
Need to milk some time, so D can get some rest.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:48 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Kareem
I wouldn't mind seeing McKenzie replaced next year.

by DoctorK16 on Jan 13, 2008 6:49 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Sweet
There's the Wade Phillips factor! Calling a timeout for a punt!

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 6:51 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Let me say again
Great to see loudmouth Crayton mess up.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 7:00 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Did they seriously just say
that Patrick Crayton has the best hands on the team?  After that one catch and half a billion drops?

by NYinCalifornia on Jan 13, 2008 7:15 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Playcall
If you want to run a toss, why not run it with the faster Bradshaw.

by DoctorK16 on Jan 13, 2008 7:22 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Funny
I thought the exact same thing. Jacobs hasn't had the speed to get the edge all day.

Way too conservative
They need a 1st down there...

Agreed
They've been playing well on D, but this is starting to be too much to ask.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 7:40 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah to me on that second down
was a time to find Plax deep, see if you can catch them.

We going to Lambeau

SWEET!!! Hey, Terry, who's your daddy now? See ya next year. Off to Green Bay. YEAAAAAHHHHH, baby!

by DoctorK16 on Jan 13, 2008 7:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

OMG, that felt good.
Could there have been any other team that would feel better beating right then? We took down the fucking cowboys baby!!

by maw150 on Jan 13, 2008 7:57 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

nope
my line with the Giants is 2-14 and is an acceptable season if we beat the Cowboys twice.

by DoctorK16 on Jan 13, 2008 7:59 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Unbelievable
How they pulled that off, with scrubs in the seconday and having their offense shut down late I don't know. I also don't care. NFC Championship Game, baby. There is still a Manning in the playoffs, but not the one you would have expected. Yahoooo!!!

by Ed Valentine on Jan 13, 2008 7:59 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This team never makes it the easy way
I was worried when the offense couldn't get a first down on those last two drives.  Why not a first down play action?
Oh well, let's enjoy the win.
Next week is another could-should game.
Poor Dallas is stuck with a long term contract with Romo.  They'll never get to the SB with that dud!  No way he's a match for Eli
The discipline finally kicked in.  They wouldn't beat themselves with penalties.

by george cronin on Jan 13, 2008 7:59 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The funniest thing in all of this
is going to be when Osi goes to the pro bowl and lines up with 12 Cowboys.

HA ha.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 8:00 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wade Phillips sez
the TD before the half was the one that hurt.

That says to me that he's a crappy coach.

by Mr Met on Jan 13, 2008 8:05 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

How did the D step up?
They couldn't stop the run. They couldn't bring pressure. And the injuries were suddenly happening left & right. Then all of a sudden they started slowing MB3 down, then Strahan & co stated bringing the heat & Romo looked like he was a salmon swimming upstream. I'm flabbergasted.

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 8:07 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

do you have any idea how awesome it is
to be living in indianapolis right now?

only one manning left!

by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Jan 13, 2008 8:12 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

really
Terry come out and get yo beatin!

at least come out here any defend your boy, who shit  his pants in yet another playoff game.

i knew they would never get anywhere with wade phillips.  he is fucking clueless.

by SBakerTheTouchdownMaker on Jan 13, 2008 8:22 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Terry
appears to be hiding, which is what I expected. I've already been over to Blogging the Boys chiding him to come out and show some class, as has at least one other member of Big Blue View Nation. Don't hold your breath, though.

by Ed Valentine on Jan 13, 2008 8:27 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

what temperature is hell?
No turnovers, barely any penalties, more running then passing, and not losing at the last second.  I have no idea what team I'm watching.  All I have to say I wish RW would put on a little weight and move to safety, he's just lost too much speed, but I think he's got the best cover skills of our CBs.

by queler on Jan 13, 2008 8:30 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Don't go crazy on RW
You'd be bitching about him if Crayton made that catch and went off for 70 yards. He had RW by three steps.

by Ed Valentine on Jan 13, 2008 8:44 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm so exhausted
sat down maybe 3 times during the game. Not even enough energy to insult the terrible troll....................we match up better against GB.............what do you think ........gonna let Ryan Grant beat us?.....whanna kick our ass? Come get some!

by big blue wrecking crew on Jan 13, 2008 8:38 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh no!
How hard do you think ESPN is going to beat the Ryan Grant thing to death this week?

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 8:47 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Just cover your ears
The only thing you'll hear more of is how the Brett Favre God has a magical chance to get back to another Super Bowl. Ugh!!!

by Ed Valentine on Jan 13, 2008 8:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

WOW!!
No one in NFL history has won 9 straight road games!

by potroast on Jan 13, 2008 8:52 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

pretty
amazing record to have..really shows the resilience of the team...

by scudagc on Jan 13, 2008 9:01 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'm twitching
Seriously, this is a very unexpected (natural!) high I'm on right now!

That was a brilliant win.  No turnovers, only 3 penalties, got outgained, had 10 minutes less in time possession, and a shitload more heart.

Fuck them cowboys! GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by mwilli on Jan 13, 2008 9:14 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

SHOCKED
I guess I am so use to being disappointed this year in big games with the Giants.  I cannot believe this win and fretted down to the last tick of the clock.

One thing I would say is Gilbride has done a grat job focusing Eli to take what the defense is giving him and not to force anything over the last 3 games.  However, I am fearful that the conservative play calling at in the 3rd and 4th tonight will not get them to the super bowl.

What happened to Boss and Bradshaw in the 3rd and 4th?  They didn't seem to be part of the game plan and with Plaxico obviously hurting, those two might have been good options.  Although, they are rookies.

Go GMEN!!
