A much-needed victory

Wow! Wow! Wow! A crazy, much-needed 24-17 victory over the Redskins.

Gotta give Steve Spagnuolo and the Giants defense a lot of credit. They played a terrific second half.

Giants did what they had to on offense, even after the terrible INT thrown by Eli Manning in the third quarter.

Back in the morning with more thoughts, 'Kudos & Wet Willies' style.

I never thought the Giants
would play as poorly as they did in the first two games.  I never thought they'd play as well as they did today.  Playoff hopes remain.

In the 2nd half, at least
The D still wasn't around in the 1st half, and Manning threw that brutal "AAAH, don't hit me!" interception, but the in the 2nd half, the Giants looked like a quality football team.  That goal-line stand at the end of the game was magnificent.  Betts never even got close on either 3rd or 4th down.

See guys, good things happen when you play defense!

Come back Tiki!!!

Good things
It was impressive to me that the Giants didn't fold when Eli threw that awful pick. You're right, too. It was a 'please don't hit me' bail out and he just flung the ball like a high school kid. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

Eli played very well/Kiwi flashed
Two picks were not good, but he made a host of other throws, particularly on third down, to help the comeback. And it was good to see Kiwi not standing on the sideline on third down. The defense really played well, really only giving up three points.

Yes, I do
I went to the University of Maryland, so I spent enough time down in that area to know it will be a very gloomy Monday for most football fans in our nation's capital. And I'm thrilled!

Terps
They need a win over Rutgers big-time. But, yes, I assume you are smiling today while most of your fellow Washingtonians are grumbling.

The Beasts from the East

aka "The Giants" are back? Hopefully, but at least today was a good start.
