Strahan's return no big surprise

So, Michael Strahan has decided to play after all.

I'm not surprised. After giving away a fortune to his ex-wife in a divorce settlement Strahan needs the cash. There was no way he was walking away from the $4 million the Giants will pay him thseason as long as he was physically able to play.

"He went with his heart instead of his head," Tony Agnone, his agent, said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press on Friday evening. "He felt at this point he was part of the team, and he was going to go to battle with them."

Let's hope that's the case. The Giants don't need any part of a player who is there only to get paid, or isn't totally committed. No more distractions, please.

So, Big Blue View Nation, are you happy to see No. 92 back for a 15th season? Or, do you wish he had just retired?

mixed feelings - at best
If he is healthy - If he still has fire in the belly, If he is really in shape, there is no doubt that he could help the team

oh and IF he keeps his mouth shut and just plays

Otherwise, we would have been better off without him.

The silver lining- it gave Tuck a chance to show what he could do.

exactly
That's how I feel about it too. As long as he is not a distraction, then he can only help the team.

Michael Strahan
I wish he had stayed retired.  His act has grown old.

If you're a fan
you have to be glad he's back.  There will be no clubhouse problems.  And after he laces up for his first game this whole episode will be old news.  After all his years of great play he gets a pass for missing training camp like so many veterans before him have.

We all know that Strahan, with Tuck spelling him more and more, gives us a huge boost in the defensive line.  It will immediately cause opponents to modify their game plan against.

The players care a lot less about this whole deal than the fans do.

Can't blame him.
At Michaels age and with his history of coming to play every Sunday ,I can't blame Michael for wanting the summer off. He actually did get his raise technically ,considering the team will probably reduce his fines down to about nothing while claiming he is still paying a substantial amount. That having been said, if he proves to be a distraction or it becomes apparent that he is just going to make this another year of a future retirees grandstanding to promote next years TV show or worse a tell all book hype CUT HIM. Parcells did this  with established vet Lionel Manuel, it seemed to get the players attention.
The team really seems to have bought in to the shut up and play mentality which was kind of the theme in camp. I dont recall many if any shocking comments from the players this summer. It's refreshing considering the past few years of guys flapping at the gums and not backing it up on the field.

Shut up and play
Let's see if that continues when things start to go bad. You that always happens during a season, so that will be the real test.

STRAHAN
I WISH THEY HAD ACCEDED TO HIS SUPPOSED DESIRE TO GO TO A WEST COAST TEAM ,AND TRADED HIM BEFORE HE GETS HURT AGAIN.IF HE LASTS 8 WEEKS,I'LL BE SURPRISED, AND A 3-4 RD. DRAFT CHOICE WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE. JFM
