What to watch for tonight

The Giants are in Baltimore tonight (8 p.m., NBC) to take on the Ravens in their second exhibition game.

Here are some of the key things to watch.

• Can the Giants defend the run? They couldn't last week against Carolina. The Panthers had several long runs and seemed to do whatever they wanted on the ground. Starting defensive tackle Fred Robbins should play more this week, and Justin Tuck moves in at left end. They should help. The Giants signed a pair of mammoth run-stopping defensive tackles this week -- Manny Wright (345 pounds) and Tui Alailefaleula (375 pounds). It will be interesting to see if either gets any playing time, and whether or not either shows the ability to help.

Amani Toomer and Aaron Ross. Toomer is coming off major knee surgery, and tonight's game will mark his first live action. He is Eli Manning's security blanket Ross, the No. 1 pick, was held out of last week's game but should debut tonight.

• The placekicking battle. This week rookie Josh Huston should get a chance to handle field goals and extra points, while Lawrence Tynes kicks off. This is shaping up to be an interesting decision. Tynes has not had a good camp, and he knows it.

Mathias Kiwanuka. He struggled last week in his first game at linebacker. The Giants will look for more discipline from him this week and a better of understanding of where he should be.

Will Demps vs. James Butler. Butler has been starting in the spot Demps held last season. Demps, though, has had a good camp and was impressive last week. It will be interesting to see who ultimately wins this job.

• Battle for the third running back spot. Derrick Ward, Ahmad Bradshaw and Ryan Grant all did good things last week. If there is only one roster spot available, they all have something to prove.

given wards history, the best thing the team should do in my humble opinion is...
keep grant as a special teamer and as a backup to ward. I think ward and bradshaw are locks to make the team. the giants have always liked ward, and have patiently waited for him to be fully healthy and bradshaw is drawing comparisons to dave megget.  Dave was the guy who revolutionized the scatback position or really, he created it. Go giants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Grant
He had a nice first game, but has little chance of making the team unless there are a rash of injuries.
