Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Wednesday Walk Around the League

Let's take our Wednesday Walk Around the League and see what is going on elsewhere.

• The San Diego Chargers may have escaped with a victory over Indianapolis Sunday, but the players seem to have tuned out Coach Norv Turner. Yahoo! Sports

• The Buffalo Bills have won four straight games, and are beginning to get a little respect. Democrat and Chronicle

• Washington Coach Joe Gibbs is feeling defensive after several of his decisions in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia were questioned. Even the players are defending their coach.

Ben Roethlisberger is always compared to Eli Manning. Some folks seem to think he is playing so well that's the wrong Manning to judge him against. Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

• The New England Patriots aren't finding much competition in the current NFL. How about putting them up against the 1992 Dallas Cowboys? ESPN Hashmarks

• Sexy Rexy Grossman might get another chance with the Chicago Bears. Windy City Gridiron

• Is there a rift between Tennessee quarterback Vince Young and Coach Jeff Fisher? Music City Miracles

Ryan Grant, whom the Giants traded to Green Bay right before the season started, has rushed for more than 100 yards twice in the Packers last three games. Grant leads the Packers with 305 rushing yards and is averaging 4.2 yards per carry.

I still can't believe
People thought Turner was going to become a genius when he became coach of the Chargers. He is a horrible head coach, and its mind-boggling that he has gotten 3 chances to show it

I got the sense when the Giants traded Ryan Grant, they didn't want to, but knew they had to. Even the players were saying he was going to be a very good RB in the NFL. I watched the game on Sunday, it was great to see him do well.

Grant
It was really Grant or Bradshaw. Considering the Giants needs, I would have let Grant go as well. The fact that Reese got a 6th-round pick for a guy he was going to cut was brilliant.

Wholeheartedly agree
Even if the guy turns into a pro bowler, it was still the right move.

Just one of those things I guess.

Hey, did anybody else catch Coughlin praising Bradshaw?  Think this means he's back as the top dog in the return game?  Looking at the value guys like Josh Cribbs on Cleveland and of course Hester bring to their teams, having a good return guy would be a boon to an already strong offense.  Hell, I'd even take the occasional fumble if it means potential game breaking ability and great field position.

Bradshaw
Yes, I saw that. Getting him back there to try and make big plays and shorten the field is one way to overcome the Burress issue.

Bradshaw
should be able to run fly patterns as well (Moss also)

Grant
i wish him all the best and am really happy for him.  but as an avid ND fan (regrettably), i watched him all four years he was there and it's absolutely baffling to me that he is a starting RB in the NFL.  outside of 2002 when he went over 1,000 yards, he was second-string to julius jones and then darius walker.
