Oakland, CA (Sports Network) - DeAngelo Williams rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown, leading the Carolina Panthers to a 17-6 victory over the Oakland Raiders.
Williams accounted for most of the team's offense, as the team managed just 219 yards. Julius Peppers dominated on defense, recording three sacks and two forced fumbles for the Panthers (7-2), who have won seven of their first nine games for the third time in team history and the first time since 2005.
Jake Delhomme struggled for most of the game, completing just 7-of-27 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown, tying a career-high with four interceptions. Muhsin Muhammad caught three passes for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Andrew Walter started at quarterback for the Raiders in place of JaMarcus Russell, who was listed as the team's emergency third quarterback after being limited in practice this week with a knee injury. Walter went 14-of-32 passing for 143 yards and two interceptions. Justin Fargas ran for 89 yards on 22 carries for Oakland (2-7), which has lost three straight games.
